About Marlo Calloway, SHRM-CP/PHR   
Marlo Calloway, SHRM-CP/PHR, founder of MentorMeHRD and B.O.S.S. Girls Mentorship program. She has over seventeen years of human resources and training experience ranging from public, city, state and federal government work environment.

Marlo works with diverse groups of individuals who are in the development, transitioning or re-entry stages of their careers by applying techniques that extend beyond the traditional formats of career development and with a mentor’s touch. 

As the chair of Hampton Roads SHRM’s first successful mentor program; she spearheaded the development of several workshops to assist entry-level professionals and students in maximizing their fullest potential in business and in their human resources careers.  Marlo serves on the board of Hampton Roads SHRM as the Director of Workforce Readiness and was the previous Military Transitions Director and  Director of College Relations. Marlo also spends her professional networking time as the Vice President of Southeastern Virginia  Association of Talent Development, Vice President of the YWCA VA Peninsula board and the current President of the National Association of Professional Women Newport News chapter. In addition, she is an Adjunct Professor with Tidewater Community College, where she instructs students on how to successfully manage their academic and professional careers.  She has developed and conducted career workshops with Opportunity Inc and is a Career Coach with the Virginia Beach Myra Obendorf  main library. She is a sought after motivational speaker on career development and training. Marlo received the 2013 and 2014 Exemplar Awards from Hampton Roads Gazeti; recognizing her for her contributions to the community in career development. In 2015, she received a distinguished honor as a "Women in Business" awardee with Inside Business. Her most recent projects are a girls mentorship program called B.O.S.S (BUILDING OUR SUCCESS STRATEGIES) and kicking off her entrepreneurial hat with Set the Stage, an interior design company. 

Human Resources
Over 17 years of management and human resource experience to include local city, state and federal government levels, specializing in training and development, recruitment and staffing, EEO, employee development,recognition, HRIS, human resource policies, exit-interviews, job analysis, compensation and benefits, employee relations, progressive discipline, new hire orientation and on-boarding. Active eight year board member of Hampton Roads Society of Human Resource Management. Piloted the chapter’s first mentor program for individuals pursuing a career in the human resources field. Current Workforce Readiness Director;  past Military Liaison Director and past College Relations Director.

Training and Development
Department of Labor Career Transition Trainer; successfully trained over 6000 military personnel from Senior Officers to Enlisted.  Current VP and active eight year board member of SEVA Association of Talent Development. Prior Director of the Career Club; developing and facilitating career employment related workshops to the general public.

Career Coaching/Mentoring
Founded MentorMe T&D/HR in 2011 with a focus on employment coaching, mentoring, talent development and human resources. I provide employment services to adults, entry-level, re-entry and transitioning professionals to include the military. I was the first Career Development Coach with Virginia Beach Main Library.

Teaching
Six year Adjunct Professor with TCC. I love the students and staff at TCC. Yes, "From Here, Go Anywhere".
